This was taken in Bay City, Michigan - where I grew up. It was that time of year where you can't deny that winter is on the cusp of reality. More leaves lay on the ground than attached to limbs, some still retain color. Some flowers are still in bloom, holding out until the snowy blanket lays upon them gently, telling them it is time to sleep.
