This sunset image was taken in 2012 in northwest Florida. Boggy Bayou turns into Tom's Bayou on the other side of the bridge. As vehicles pass over the bridge, their tires make a light thumping noise that makes one wax nostalgic. My brothers and I used to fish from that bridge with my father when we were children back in the early 1970's.

    New Mexico Crescent Sun
I took this photograph in May of 2012 while living in New Mexico. I'd never seen a crescent sun before caused by an eclipse, its was a spectacular thing to witness. The sunsets in the southwestern part of America can be pretty incredible.

Anyone who sits in one of those chairs for more than a minute or two will be able to witness mullet as they gleefully jump out of the water. The distant call of a seagull will eventually be heard and a wandering pelican or blue heron just might show up unannounced.

One of my favorite spots on Boggy Bayou to stand or sit and watch the sun set behind the Tom's Bayou bridge in Valparaiso, Florida. The closet thing to paradise this side of heaven.

Taken in 2012 on Boggy Bayou in northwest Florida near Destin and Fort Walton Beach. I don't "do" many sunrise pictures since I normally go to bed about an hour or so before it occurs.

I grew up on Boggy Bayou in northwest Florida and it's where I escape to often. The small twin communities of Niceville and Valparaiso,Florida sit along the shores of the bayou. When I look at this picture I get a sense of nostalgia and a renewed connection to my hometown.

    Eastern Moon
In 2012, just as I finished taking a bunch of sunset shots towards the west in eastern New Mexico, near Clovis, I turned around and saw this view to the east. Sometimes a moon rise can be almost as spectacular as a sunset.

The sunsets in eastern New Mexico are incredible, especially when you can view them while being way out in the country away from buildings and such that can block the view. This image was taken in 2012.

    Crimson Sunset
This image was taken at sunset in 2012 on the high plains of eastern New Mexico. There was a lot of smoke on the horizon from a fire on the western side of the state that day and so it did a superb filtering job on the sun as it set.

    1. Southern California term for something so epic, so radical, so extreme, and so memorable that no image could more aptly sum it up than a dank, epic, dubstep sunset.
